A message from Jeb... Dear Fellow Vermonters, I was very fortunate to garner the support of so many people like you in my first campaign for State Treasurer two years ago. Now, as we campaign for reelection, I am asking for your help again. During my first term, I have emphasized continuous improvement in treasury fundamentals, such as timely and accurate bank reconciliations, enhanced customer service, expanded outreach and compliance in the unclaimed property division, proactive investment management and oversight, and protecting Vermont's excellent credit rating. In addition, I have initiated a new focus in the Treasurer's Office on leveraging State assets to encourage good corporate citizenship and to promote community development here in Vermont. For example, we have made investments in the Vermont Community Loan Fund and the Vermont Development Credit Union. We have adopted proxy-voting guidelines for our pension funds to support improved corporate governance and responsible corporate management. I have joined with other active State Treasurers to engage the investment community to address global warming and climate change. My office has initiated a new Bank in Vermont program to invest short-term funds in Vermont banks to support investments in our communities. I worked hard to be sure that Vermont makes a serious attempt to gain ownership in hydroelectric facilities on the Connecticut River. To find out more about these and other accomplishments, please visit the State Treasurer's Web site at www.vermonttreasurer.gov . I am excited about the many opportunities I have as State Treasurer to contribute to a bright financial future for our wonderful state and would sincerely appreciate your help in mounting a strong campaign for reelection. Please consider making a contribution now. Remember though, Vermont law limits contributions to $400 per person or $800 per couple. Also, Vermont law prohibits the Vermont Treasurer's Office from contracting for investment related services with any person or firm that has made a contribution to a candidate for State Treasurer. Thanks for your help and support. With Best Regards,
